Conrad: German companies are looking to explore new opportunities and expand their partnership in Qatar
His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani, President of the Qatar Chamber, said that Germany is not only a global economic power, but a partner of great value to the State of Qatar, pointing to the role of German companies axis in supporting the process of industrial development and technological modernization in Qatar. This came during a meeting of the German Qatari business held at the Qatar Chamber’s headquarters on Sunday, in the presence of Mr. Silvio Conrad, CEO of TUV Nord, Ambassador Hans Oudo Motsel and a number of Qatari business owners and members of the German delegation from the German Association for the Middle East and Lower / Nomov.
His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa stressed during his speech in the meeting the interest and keenness of the Qatari side towards developing trade exchange and enhancing mutual investments with Germany in all sectors, pointing out that the State of Qatar is one of the largest investors in Germany, as its investments exceed 25 billion euros, and include important sectors such as the auto industry, communications, hospitality, banking services and others.
He also noted that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries last year exceeded 6 billion Qatari riyals, compared to 7.1 billion riyals during the year 2023.
Building a varied and sustainable economy
His Excellency pointed out that the State of Qatar is moving forward towards building a diverse and sustainable economy, based on knowledge and innovation and enhances Qatar’s position as a global investment destination within the framework of Qatar National Vision 2030, stressing the role of the private sector as a major engine of this transformation and a key partner in achieving comprehensive development.
His Excellency the President of the Qatar Chamber noted that the State of Qatar has become a favorite destination for global investment, thanks to the directives of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the country, and the clear government vision to expand the industrial base that has developed a motivational legislative system, built an advanced infrastructure, and provided industrial lands, along with advanced transportation. He added that there are promising prospects for cooperation between the Qatari and German side in many sectors, including energy and renewable resources, sustainable infrastructure, logistical services, education, smart technology, pharmaceutical industries, and other fields.
The depth of German -Qatari relations
For his part, Mr. Silvio Conrad, CEO of Tuv Nord Group, said that his country has strong and long -term cooperation relations with the State of Qatar, noting that the group has many partners in the Middle East and inside Qatar, which opens the way for more partnerships, especially in the technological sectors.
He said that the delegation includes a group of leading companies in the fields of information technology, artificial intelligence, communications, energy and resources, and pointed out that German companies are looking to explore new opportunities to expand their partnership in Qatar and the region and enhance economic ties with the Qatari private sector. In turn, Ambassador Hans Udo Motsel emphasized the depth of German -Qatari relations, noting that Qatar is one of the largest investors in Germany, which opens more horizons for cooperation and partnerships between business societies in both countries.
