The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the University of HEC Paris in Doha are a study on the solution to the immediate management of crowds and transportation

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, in cooperation with the University of Graduate Studies for Business Administration – HEC Paris in Doha, launched a new case study on the resolution of the immediate management of crowds and transportation, which was developed within the Smart Qatar program “Tsamu”, and demonstrated its effectiveness during the major events hosted by the state, led by the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and the Asian Cup Qatar 2023.

This came during an event organized by the university and participated in the ministry, on the instant management and transportation platform platform.

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology stated, in a statement today, that this study aims to document the experience of the State of Qatar in designing and implementing an integrated solution based on huge data and artificial intelligence to support the transportation and crowds department, as this project is a prominent example of effective cooperation between the government sector, academic institutions and the private sector.

She indicated that the study had been prepared by a group of faculty members at the university, led by Professor Wolfgang Aman, one of the most prominent specialists in the field of business and digital innovation.

She pointed out that during the event, Professor Aman managed an interactive discussion in which he highlighted the achievements related to the subject presented, while Mrs. Iman Al -Kuwari, Director of Digital Innovation Department at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, presented a comprehensive presentation of the stages that the system development went through and the future vision to expand its use.

In this context, Mrs. Reem Mohamed Al Mansouri, Assistant Undersecretary for Digital Industry Affairs in the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, said: “The solution to the immediate crowd and transportation has played a fundamental role in supporting the state’s readiness to organize major events, led by the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, as it managed to integrate huge quantities of data from various partners of the transport sector, which enabled the management of millions of millions efficient and safely throughout the country.”

Al -Mansouri added that “the participation of this experience not only highlights the achievements of the State of Qatar, but also inspires the next generation of innovators to continue developing the system and expanding its use.”

She added, “It is important to build on this success, especially through cooperation with prestigious international academic institutions such as HEC Paris in Doha, and the issuance of the case study that we announce today directly supports the vision of the State of Qatar to build a vital knowledge -based economy, and enhances the implementation of its digital agenda.”

The Assistant Undersecretary for Digital Industry Affairs at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology explained that the partnership with researchers and students is speeding up the transfer of innovative ideas from the study halls to the ground, saying: “The highlight of this successful experience inspires the next generation of innovators to lead the march of digital transformation.”

For his part, Dr. Pablo Martin de Hollan, Dean of the University of Graduate Studies for Business Administration, said HEC Paris in Doha.

He added that “the study not only highlights the leadership of the State of Qatar in the field of innovation, but also provides the participants in the university’s programs with practical visions on the future of smart cities and digital strategy,” noting that the study is a testimony on the role of business education in supporting the priorities of national development.

It is noteworthy that the experience of the instant management and transportation platform is a tangible example of the capabilities of the State of Qatar in creating comprehensive smart solutions that serve the transportation sectors and urban events, and open the way for international expansion models, while this project proves how the data paid can transform the complex challenges into opportunities for excellence at the global level, and enhances the role of the State of Qatar as a global destination for cities Smart.
