The State of Qatar participated in the work of the 123rd meeting of the Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee in the Gulf Cooperation Council states, which was held yesterday in the State of Kuwait. The delegation of the State of Qatar participating in the meeting was chaired by His Excellency Mr. Ali bin Ahmed Al -Kuwari, Minister of Finance.
During the meeting, the results of the 84th meeting of the Central Banking Governors Committee, the results of the Customs Union meetings, the 14th meeting of the Committee of Tax Administration, were reviewed, in addition to discussing amending the minimum quality fee on tobacco, the implications of raising American customs duties, and the project of allocations for the judiciary of the Economic Judicial Authority.
The meeting also discussed the results of the joint Gulf Market Committee, as well as reviewing the effectiveness of the Cooperation Council in the meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, in addition to the document of the mechanism of implementing the standards of definition of the national product (Gulf), achieving economic integration, and promoting innovation and economic resilience in facing common challenges.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the media campaign was launched for the joint Gulf market, which aims to raise the level of public awareness, and to enhance understanding about the concept of the unified Gulf market, and the benefits and services it provides for citizens and investors alike, including freedom of movement and residence, real estate, work, investment, and equal treatment in various economic fields.
