The Transportation Company (Crooh) conducted an operating experience of self -driving electric cars, with fourth -level technologies, in specific areas of the country covering tourist and service paths, under the supervision of the Ministry of Communications.
Crooh, in coordination with the Ministry, will work during the coming period to wipe the proposed tracks, in preparation for the start of the trial car operation in two phases.
The first stage of the experiment will start under the supervision of a specialized team without the presence of passengers, while the second stage will witness the full experimental operation with the presence of passengers without a driver, and the experiments will continue until the first quarter of next year, while monitoring and evaluating the readiness of technology and operational efficiency, in addition to setting relevant organizational frameworks, and preparing the supportive infrastructure, within the framework of future smart transport initiatives in the State of Qatar.
This experiment is an extension of the positive results achieved in the previous experiments to operate the self -driving electric buses, which are consistent with the plans of self -driving vehicle strategy prepared by the ministry, in a way that contributes to enhancing the benefit of advanced technology applications, according to the latest smart and environmentally friendly systems in the field of public transport.
It is noteworthy that every self -driving taxi is used in these experiments, equipped with six long -term cameras, four radars, and four “Lidar” units, which enhances its ability to monitor and accurately control during movement.

A comprehensive transformation strategy
It is worth noting that the experience of self -driving cars is not the first in the streets of Qatar. The Crooh Transport Company last year, in cooperation with the Chinese company «Young», in the context of implementing the connected Ministry of Transportation strategies, the most important of which is the strategy of the comprehensive and gradual transformation of the electrical public transport system and the self -driving vehicle strategy by experimenting with the operation of the first self -driving electric bus to transport passengers within the educational city.
Clean electric -driving buses work without carbon emissions, and they are the product of integrating advanced technologies with environmental awareness, and in their paths depend on advanced sensors, high -resolution cameras, laser sensors, and ultrasound radar, to ensure the highest security and safety standards, and this technology does not only enhance the efficiency of the transportation and transportation system only, but also contributes In creating a safe and sustainable urban environment.

Ambitious plan
The State of Qatar adopts an ambitious plan for a gradual transformation to the use of buses and electric cars in the public transport sector, with the aim of achieving environmental sustainability and reducing carbon emissions. The plan includes the full conversion of the bus fleet into electric buses by 2030, while the conversion of the taxi fleet into an electrician will be completed by 2035.
The “Crooh” transportation company would provide this transformation in its fleet, about 12 thousand kg of carbon dioxide emissions for each taxi compared to other taxi cars running the traditional fuel system, noting that this step is one of its main contributions to achieving Qatar National Vision 2030.

An environmentally friendly transfer system
The transportation company is moving towards an environmentally friendly transportation system to reduce emissions and obtain pure air, and this fleet will help reduce the carbon footprint of vehicles in the streets of Doha, which is another starting point on the road towards achieving the company’s goal to reach a emission -free transport system, as it focuses more on the adoption of innovative technologies, and it is currently underway to convert the fleet of “taxi cars” into cars Completely electrical, and all the “Karawah Taxi” cars operating inside the city were also replaced with a full fleet of environmentally friendly hybrid taxis.
In this context, “transportation” has taken many gradual steps to adopt environmentally friendly leadership systems and alternative funeral types over the past years, as part of the pursuit of a sustainable public transfer.
