In this context, Mr. Saadoun Sabah Al -Kuwari, Secretary General of the Qatar Basketball Federation, and the Secretary General of the Gulf Basketball Federation, expressed his wishes for success for all the participating teams, and to appear at the higher technical level, which befits the Gulf basketball, stressing the importance of this event, which will give the champion and runner -up two card to qualify for the Asian Cup finals, which will be reflected at the technical level in the championship and raises enthusiasm and challenge Between the teams participating in the Gulf championship.
He said: We work in the Gulf Basketball Federation in cooperation with the Bahraini Federation to organize an exceptional championship that reflects the advanced level of the game in the region.
Al -Kuwari stressed: We always seek with the AFC to develop Gulf competitions and raise the efficiency and quality of the teams, and that granting two direct seats to the Asian Cup through the Gulf Championship is tantamount to international recognition of the development of the level of Sunni groups in the Gulf countries, and gives national teams a greater incentive to shine and qualification.
Al -Kuwari added: Through this tournament, we seek to enhance the readiness of the players of the Gulf teams, achieve our long -term goals in discovering talents, expanding the base of practice, and building teams capable of continental and international competition.

The championship draw resulted in the distribution of the teams in two groups, as the first group includes the teams of Qatar, Kuwait and the Emirates, and the second group includes the teams of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman.
