“Communications”: attracting talents and developing young competencies

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology stressed that the national framework for digital skills is a major reference to attract talents and develop digital capabilities by upgrading individuals ’skills and enhancing competencies capable of keeping pace with the future, in line with Qatar’s national vision for the year 2030. The ministry stated that this comes within the framework of working to empower the community with the knowledge and skills necessary to keep pace with digital development, through cooperation with the leading bodies in providing content and digital programs, Providing the latest tools and resources, which contributes to promoting job opportunities and supporting the diversification of the national economy.
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, through (http://digital.mcit.gov.qa), indicated that through this initiative, individuals can evaluate their digital competencies, follow up their progress, and gain the necessary skills for the requirements of the future. At the level of institutions, the initiative allows employers to harmonize employment strategies with the changing market requirements, and to contribute to building a high -efficiency workforce. The “Communications” explained that the digital skills framework is a national standard designed to identify and organize the required digital competencies in the workforce, as it consists of 115 specific digital skills, classified within 19 categories, and is arranged in four basic skills groups. This integrated framework also provides users with a clear and organized exploration experience to explore their digital skills, from public fields to the specific skills that need to be developed. The digital skills framework targets two main categories:
1. Individuals: Helping individuals to understand the level of their current digital skills accurately, identify the areas of improvement, and reach dedicated learning paths that enhance their digital capabilities in order to support their continuous professional development.
2. Institutions: Helping institutions by adopting an organized approach to the development of workforce, digital transformation, and talent planning. In addition to using this framework to assess digital readiness, identify skills gaps, and align employee competencies with work needs.
Digital skills framework will also help individuals reach integrated and carefully designed training programs, aimed at developing their digital skills, enhancing their competitiveness, and enabling them to contribute effectively to the march of digital innovation in the State of Qatar.

The evaluation of digital skills consists of five sections, each focusing on a specific set of digital skills.
