Our first national football team obtained a good moral boost before traveling today to its Austrian camp in the first steps for preparing for the fourth stage of the World Cup qualifiers, where its decline stopped back in the world rankings, and achieved progress for the first time in some time and advanced to the 53rd position after the 55th in the new classification issued by the International Football Association yesterday.
Al -Annabi’s progress in the new classification came with his victory over the Iranian team, the second Asian classification with a goal in the third stage of the World Cup qualifiers
Annabi remained fifth at the continental level after Japan, Iran, South Korea and Australia, and also fifth at the Arab level after Morocco, Egypt, Algeria and Tunisia.
With this progress, Al -Annabi confirms his lead in the six teams that compete in the fourth stage of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The new world rankings witnessed a great surprise, which was the advancement of the Iraqi team to 58th, and the Saudi national team retreated to 59th, while the UAE team maintained its 65th place, Oman retreated two places and became the 79, and Indonesia advanced 5 places and became 118.
The draw for the fourth stage of the qualifiers will take place next Thursday at the AFC headquarters in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur.
Al -Annabi will leave Doha today to Austria to attend in a training camp that will continue until 27, which is the first step in preparation for the qualifiers, and the new Spanish coach, Lopetegui, hopes to exploit this camp and prepare Al -Annabi well.
