The State of Qatar has achieved an unprecedented qualitative leap and expansion in the number of hotel rooms, as the data issued by Qatar for tourism revealed at the end of the first half of this year 2025 that the country has a total of 41,308 rooms and hotel apartments with the opening of new hotels, to keep pace with the increasing demand from visitors and tourists throughout the year.

Qatar Tourism stated in a statistical report on its official website that the total supply of the hotel rooms in Qatar exceeded the 41,000 rooms, with expectations that this number would be exceeded by the end of the year 2025 with an expected increase in the supply by entering some important additions to the market in the coming months.
The 5 -star hotels account for a share of about 48% of the total hotels in Qatar, while the four -star hotels accommodate a 20% stake in the total, and hotel apartments are 24%, while hotels in groups between 1 and 3 stars account for 8% of the total.
The supply of hotel apartments exceeds 10,000 units, more than 70% of which are located in the Western Gulf region, and the supply is still dominated by high -end hotels and luxury apartments.
According to the Str Global rating, more than 30,000 rooms in Qatar are classified as sophisticated or luxurious, which is largely equivalent to four -star hotels and five -star.

Revenue and residence nights
On the other hand, the total hotel residence nights during the first six months of 2025 amounted to more than 5.2 million nights, compared to about 4.9 million nights registered during the same period last year, an annual increase of 6%.
With the increase in the number of visitors and hotel nights, the average hotel occupancy rate in the first half of 2025 recorded about 70.83% compared to a 69% occupancy that was registered in the same period in the year 2024.
The average price of the room in all hotels and hotel apartments was 449 riyals, compared to the same number recorded in the first half of 2024 of 457 riyals.
The rate of return on the available room was 322.5 riyals, an annual increase on the same return registered in the first half of 2024 of 314 riyals.

Prestigious
The State of Qatar succeeded in maintaining its prestigious position among the best tourist destinations for travelers from the Gulf and the Middle East during the first six months of 2025, as the good and studied preparation of various types of entertainment activities, which the state holds throughout the year, contributed to attracting more tourists, as this led to the promotion of the competitiveness of the Qatari tourism sector, which has become a clear and distinctive presence.

Number of visitors
The number of visitors to the State of Qatar reached more than two million and six hundred thousand visitors at the end of the first half of the year, which reflects the good performance of the tourism sector thanks to the various attractions that the State of Qatar abounds throughout the year, such as the leading landmarks and destinations, events and festivals that are organized as well as the authentic Arab hospitality that is famous for.
Statistics showed that the number of visitors coming to Qatar by air reached one million and 510 thousand people, or 57% of the total number of visitors, while 881 thousand visitors by land reached 33 percent of the total number of visitors and about 244 thousand visitors arrived by sea by 10% of the total.

Gulf visitors
The great demand from the citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council states contributed to the recovery of the tourism and travel sector in the State of Qatar over the past six months with more than 945 thousand visitors, which represents 35.9% of the total visitors coming to the state.
On the level of visitors from other countries, the European continent ranked second with a number of visitors with about 679 thousand visitors (25.8%), and visitors from Asia countries ranked third with 574 thousand visitors (21.8%), while visitors from other Arab countries came fourth with 192 thousand visitors (7.3%), then visitors from the Americas with 179 thousand visitors (6.8%) in the fifth place, while visitors are African countries The number reached 66 thousand visitors (2.5%) ranked sixth.
