QNB allowed the acceptance of the unified payment interface (UPI) based on the rapid response icon in Qatar through the points of sale of traders who deal with QNB and use payments from NetStars, in cooperation with NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL). To celebrate this important achievement, a special ceremony was held at the QNB headquarters, in the presence of His Excellency the Indian Ambassador to Qatar, Mr. Volol, as well as senior officials of the QNB group and the Qatar Airways Group, which reflects the depth of bilateral cooperation and the keenness to provide a smooth and comfortable payment experience for Indian travelers.
The Qatari free market, which is affiliated with the Qatar Airways Group, has become the first to allow the UPI payment service, enabling Indian travelers, who are the second largest category of visitors coming to Qatar, from making smooth purchases in Qatari free market stores, which makes their shopping experience unforgettable.
This partnership will also enable Indian travelers to conduct payments through the UPI system in the main tourist attractions in the State of Qatar, which facilitates them to conduct financial transactions throughout the country, which limits the need to carry money and avoid currency transfer.
The acceptance of the unified payment interface in Qatar is enhanced by the ability to operate and expands the global scope of this service.
Moreover, this service is expected to be especially useful for the retail and tourism sectors in Qatar, as the unified payment interface will be accepted from the sizes of traders who will be able to expand their business while providing comfort to customers.
