The State of Qatar participated in a round ministerial table on “Health Care in the Gaza Strip”, hosted by the United Kingdom, on the sidelines of the meetings of the eighties of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The State of Qatar was represented by the Minister of Public Health Mansour bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud.
Al Mahmoud stressed that the humanitarian catastrophe that civilians suffer in the Gaza Strip as a result of the Israeli aggression is war crimes, stressing that the world may not be silent about this tragedy.
He called for an immediate move to stop the aggression, save lives, and protect health facilities and their workers.
Al Mahmoud also pointed to the role played by the State of Qatar, leadership and people, in solidarity with the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the State of Palestine as a whole and its commitment to its help, and that it continues to seek to find a just solution, despite the treacherous attack that Israel launched against the State of Qatar in a desperate attempt to undermine any hope of peace and end the war.
During the round table meeting, the participants listened to direct certificates from doctors and health workers who worked in the Gaza Strip, where they presented live testimonies about the tragedies they lived in Gaza.
British Foreign Minister Evit Cooper, Director General of the World Health Organization, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Guerbrisus, and head of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, Dr. Younis Al -Khatib, participated in the round table.
