The German Society of Urology said that prostate health can be maintained by following a healthy lifestyle based on:
– Proper nutrition: Men should focus on plant products and limit the consumption of foods of animal origin. They should prefer white meat (such as turkey or chicken) when eating meat, and reduce or abstain from eating smoked and salted sausages. They should also eat a lot of vegetables and fruits, while choosing whole grains instead of white flour products.
– Regular exercise and movement activities (preferably daily)
– Quit smoking
The association pointed out that following a healthy lifestyle does not prevent prostate problems, since there are other risk factors that cannot be influenced, such as advanced age (starting from the age of 40) and genetic predisposition.

Therefore, men should pay attention to some warning signs indicating an enlarged prostate, which are represented by urination problems, such as weak urine flow, dripping at night, and frequent urination.
It is worth noting that the prostate is a chestnut-sized gland located below the bladder and surrounding the upper part of the urethra. If it swells too much, it puts pressure on the bladder and narrows the urethra.
