The Middle East Forum for Person-Centered Care, which was held in the Qatari capital, Doha, under the slogan: “Reshaping the Future of Care: Innovations in Person-Centered Care,” focused on how innovation, integration, and comprehensiveness can contribute to reshaping the ways health care is delivered at the systems and societal levels.
The forum was attended by Mansour bin Ibrahim bin Saad Al Mahmoud, Qatari Minister of Public Health, Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Director General of Hamad Medical Corporation, and a number of leaders, experts and innovators in health care from the region and the world who are devoting their efforts to enhancing the impact of the individual-centered approach in developing the health care system.
The two-day forum was organized in partnership between Hamad Medical Corporation and Planetree International, a leading American organization known globally for its support of excellence in person-centered care.
The annual forum has established itself as a leading regional platform for exchanging best practices and innovations that place patients and their families at the top of the healthcare system’s priority.
The event program included three main tracks: “Individual-centered digital transformation, shared care and building partnerships to achieve better results, and care without borders and person-centered systems across health networks.”
Speakers and participants reviewed the role of technological development, collaborative partnerships, and co-design models in enhancing patient experience and improving clinical outcomes.
The forum also highlighted Hamad Medical Corporation’s leadership in integrating the principles of person-centered care within its health facilities, starting with pioneering digital tools such as the “Labih” application, which allows patients to access and manage their health data via smartphones, all the way to the establishment of the first center of excellence in artificial intelligence in Qatar, which contributes to developing the concept of smart hospitals.
The Forum reaffirmed Hamad Medical Corporation’s position as a regional leader in person-centred care, and its ongoing mission to provide compassionate, innovative, high-quality care to patients in Qatar and the region.
