News has spread on social media about the return of striker Bahaa Faisal, who currently plays for Al-Waab in the second division league, to the Jordanian national team roster after being away for four consecutive seasons, in the upcoming Arab Cup tournament, which will start at the beginning of next month. The player suffered an injury while representing the Jordanian national team in the 2021 Arab Cup tournament, where he fell to the ground in the Morocco match, specifically at the 12th minute, and it later became clear that he had suffered a rupture in his cruciate ligament, and the player was lost after the injury, as he did not receive the necessary attention for the Cannes striker. He was moving at a rapid speed towards the world of stardom, and the former Iraqi coach at the time, Adnan Hamad, was relying on him as a main pillar. Al-Arab conducted an interview with the player to find out the truth about his return to stardom. Has anyone from the technical or administrative staff spoken to the player or is he still awaiting this decision?
The player began his speech by stressing that he really hopes to return to the ranks of the Jordanian national team, but the conversations that conveyed his summoning to the list are just mere conversations and have not been promoted officially, but returning to the Jordanian national team will be a great honor to represent Al-Nashama again in a major tournament as valuable as the Arab Cup, especially since it will be held in Qatar, which recorded great success in this tournament in the last edition.
He continued, saying, “The Jordanian national team has players who are considered the best generation in Jordanian football. Everything available to these players makes them succeed. We have talents, and the Football Association took advantage of this in the appropriate way in preparing them. We reaped the fruits of success by obtaining second place in the Asian Cup, in addition to reaching the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the United States of America, Canada, and Mexico.”
He continued, saying, “With regard to our chances in the Arab Cup, we are able to reach a long distance and compete despite the many absences in the ranks of the Jordanian team, given that there are several players in the European leagues, and our group is not easy with the presence of strong teams such as the Egyptian, Emirati, Kuwaiti, or Mauritanian teams. I hope that we will achieve the title, God willing, and among the nominated teams are the Qatari, Moroccan, Algerian, and Egyptian teams.”
When asked about the orientation of several teams in the second round and whether this affects the tournament? He said, “No…this matter will not affect the tournament because it is a strong tournament and it is an opportunity for new faces to be discovered in this tournament and these players can reserve a main place for them in the first team thanks to their brilliance in the Arab Cup, which is what actually happened with several teams in the previous edition of the Arab Cup.”
When asked about playing for Al-Waab in the second division, and whether it represented an adventure in his football career? He said, “Playing for Al-Waab is not an adventure, but rather a new challenge to reach far and qualify for the Stars League, and in fact it is a very ambitious club.”
