A report by the British website The Register referred to the phenomenon of “hidden artificial intelligence,” which is when an employee uses an artificial intelligence service unofficially and without permission from his company.
The phenomenon puts companies at risk of their data being leaked and used by artificial intelligence companies to train their models, which happened previously with Samsung employees in 2023 and led to the company completely banning the use of “GPT Chat,” according to a separate report from the American news website Forbes.
The Register report reported the spread of the phenomenon of hidden artificial intelligence, as 45% of employees in general use artificial intelligence in their jobs, including 67% who use artificial intelligence services through their personal accounts, according to a study conducted by the American company Verizon.
This is not limited to the use of artificial intelligence chat tools, as it extends to all artificial intelligence programming tools and artificial intelligence agents as well, which increases the danger these tools represent.
