Dazzling diagonal in the heart of Nagoya

Qatar caught the attention during the closing ceremony of the 20th Asian Games “Aichi-Nagoya” 2026 in Japan, where Qatar received the flag of hosting the 21st edition of the Asian Games in 2030.
The artistic presentation, which received wide interaction from the audience at Paloma Mizuho Stadium, included the film “Games of a Lifetime” and the segment “The Return of an Old Friend,” which forms a link between Doha 2006, Aichi-Nagoya 2026, and the journey towards Doha 2030.
The “Games of a Lifetime” represents the main platform for Doha 2030, and highlights the ambitions of athletes, peoples and countries, and the common sporting moments that bring together Asia.
The Qatari presence was impressive in terms of identity and culture, especially when the Qatari national anthem was played and its lyrics were sung directly by Dana Al Meer, which was admired by everyone. It also represented the hero Moataz Barshim’s receipt of the 2030 Asian Games flag wearing the Qatari dress, and the entry of the Qatari jockey Jassim Al Kuwari on horseback and carrying the flag to bring back historical memories at the opening of the 2006 Doha Asian Games, all of which were messages that reflect Qatar’s identity and culture and confirm its readiness to organize an exceptional version of the Asian Games.
The new identity of Doha 2030 places the sun of the Olympic Council of Asia inside the letter “O” in the word “DOHA”, indicating the special status of the Asian Games in the city of Doha.
