This momentum coincides with WHOOP entering a new phase of its global expansion, supported by investments in regional infrastructure and retail distribution networks, as well as research and community partnerships. These investments include opening a dedicated office for the company in the United Arab Emirates, and expanding the network of retail stores that provide its products. Through WHOOP Qatar, the company also intends to open its first international human performance R&D facility outside Boston later this year, furthering its understanding of health and human performance in the region. WHOOP is also the official wearable health and performance monitoring device of the Emirates XRG Cycling Team and Al Nasr Saudi Club, in addition to its partnerships with the Dubai Fitness Challenge and the Doha Marathon, strengthening its connection with the region’s leading high-performance sports communities. WHOOP helps its members turn individually tailored analyzes into actionable steps that make a tangible difference in their lives. By providing personalized health information and analysis in Arabic, the company allows a broader segment of Arabic speakers to understand the behaviors and habits that affect their health, and to make informed decisions to improve their overall feeling, performance, and health as they age.
In this context, Will Ahmed, Founder and CEO of WHOOP, said: “The response to WHOOP across the Middle East has been exceptional. The GCC has become a key market for us, and we are seeing strong growth in the MENA region overall. We have made a significant commitment to this region, and we will continue to invest in it. Launching our experience in Arabic is a pivotal part of this strategy.”
The launch of the experience in Arabic also comes as an implementation of one of the main strategic initiatives stipulated in the partnership between WHOOP and Mubadala Investment Company, following Mubadala’s investment in the company within the Series G financing round.
