The Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf and the World Customs Organization signed an annex to a memorandum of understanding between the two sides, in the Belgian capital, Brussels.
The annex was signed by Mr. Jassim Mohammed Al Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, and Ian Saunders, Secretary-General of the World Customs Organization.
The two sides expressed their aspiration that the annex to the Memorandum of Understanding would contribute to strengthening cooperation between the Gulf Cooperation Council and the World Customs Organization.
Al-Budaiwi explained that, based on the memorandum of understanding that was previously signed on December 15, 2017, and in light of the Customs Union Authority of the Gulf Cooperation Council exercising its responsibilities, this annex was signed, which stipulated in its first article that the “Customs Union Authority of the Gulf Cooperation Council” would be the body concerned with everything related to cooperation, representation, communication, coordination and all other matters related to the implementation of the memorandum of understanding.
