The Minister of Transportation participates in the high-level meeting of ICAO

His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Thani, Minister of Transport, participated in the high-level ministerial meeting, which was held within the activities of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Security Week, held in the city of Muscat in the Sultanate of Oman, in the presence of His Excellency Mr. Salvatore Sciacchitano, Chairman of the Council of the Organization (ICAO). ICAO) and His Excellency Mr. Juan Carlos Salasar, Secretary-General of the Organization.

A number of Their Excellencies, ministers and heads of delegations from various member states of the International Civil Aviation Organization, and senior officials of international and regional organizations participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, His Excellency the Minister of Transport delivered a speech in which he affirmed that the State of Qatar had taken all steps to achieve what was stated in the Muscat Declaration, which was approved during the meeting, and focuses on the most prominent issues of aviation security and electronic security in the field of civil aviation.
His Excellency stressed the active participation of the State of Qatar in various ICAO activities and events, stressing the country’s firm belief in the importance of focusing on capacity building and providing technical assistance to enhance levels of effective compliance in the region.
His Excellency also explained the importance of continuous dialogue and exchange of information and experiences between ICAO member states, other organizations and experts, noting that joint efforts are the way to continue improving the aviation security system and ensuring the regularity and safety of air transport.
The meeting discussed global security priorities in the aviation sector, and current electronic challenges in the field of civil aviation, in addition to examining the development of innovative solutions that ensure a safe future for civil aviation worldwide.
His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Thani, Minister of Transport, met with His Excellency Engineer Saeed bin Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology in the sisterly Sultanate of Oman, on the sidelines of His Excellency’s participation in the ministerial meeting of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), which was held in Muscat. .
During the meeting, the strengthening and development of aspects of joint cooperation between the two brotherly countries in the fields of transportation and all activities related to them, especially issues of electronic security in the field of civil aviation and sustainable, environmentally friendly transport, were reviewed.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Muhammad Faleh Al-Hajri, who is in charge of managing the work of the General Authority of Civil Aviation.
His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Thani, Minister of Transport, also met with His Excellency Mr. Salvatore Sciacchitano, President of the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
During the meeting, ways of strengthening and developing relations between the State of Qatar and ICAO in the field of civil aviation were reviewed, and the most prominent current issues related to aviation security and electronic security in the field of aviation were discussed, in addition to discussing a number of topics of common interest.
