The coach mentioned in the press conference today that the Omani national team is facing a strong team that includes distinguished players and has achieved great achievements, and stressed the need for the players to be prepared technically, physically and psychologically in order to ensure a distinguished performance.
Coach Jaber said that the team’s ambition is to reach the final match, noting that the players performed very well in the group stage and deserved to qualify. He stressed that the team will continue with the same momentum, with the need to prepare well for any eventuality, whether in regular or extra time if necessary.
Regarding the expected public pressure from the Saudi fans, the coach said that the Omani national team players are accustomed to playing in front of large crowds, whether in the previous final against Iraq in the presence of 60,000 spectators, or the current opening match in front of 45-50 thousand fans, indicating that this will not It negatively affects the players.
The coach concluded by noting the absence of Amjad Al Harithi and Saleh Al Yahyai due to injury, in addition to the absence of Muhammad Al Musalmi due to suspension.
In turn, Fayez Al-Rashidi, the Omani national team player, said that the confrontation with the Saudi national team will be difficult against a strong competitor that includes high-level players, stressing the team’s readiness to continue the tournament’s journey after the distinguished performance it presented in the group stage.
The Omani team, the champion of the first group, will meet the Saudi team, the runner-up of the second group, tomorrow at 5:30 pm at Jaber Al-Mubarak Stadium in the first semi-final of Gulf 26, and the winner will face in the final match the team that will win in the second semi-final, between the Bahraini team, the champion of the second group.
