Dr. Mishaal Ibrahim Al -Nasr, President of the Qatar Shooting, Arch, and Arrow Federation, confirmed that the country’s sports day has become a milestone for the State of Qatar, which was the first to adopt the idea of allocating a national sports day, in response to Emiri Resolution No. 80 of 2011, which stipulated that it be on Tuesday of the second week From February of each year, a sports day for the state, and considering it an official holiday in the country … indicating that Qatar dazzled the world with this pioneering step to prove to everyone that it deserves and is worthy of the title of sports capital in the world.
The head of the Shooting, Arc and Arrow Union said in a statement to the Qatar News Agency /Qena /that the celebration of the sports day is an important opportunity to emphasize the importance of exercising permanently and regularly, and it is a national occasion that enhances the culture of exercising among all groups of society.
He pointed out that the sports day of the state is an ideal opportunity to encourage individuals to adopt a healthy lifestyle, enhance sporting spirit, and raise awareness of the importance of physical activity in improving the quality of life.
He also praised the role of the State of Qatar in supporting sports and providing the necessary infrastructure to practice it safely and effectively.
He added: “The sports day is not just an annual event. Rather, it is a strong message that reminds us of the importance of sport in building a strong and coherent society … We are proud of the sporting achievements at the local and international levels, and we seek to continue this success by promoting mathematical culture between future generations.”
Al -Nasr explained that the interest of the State of Qatar in sport did not come from a vacuum, but rather from its awareness and full awareness of its great role in building man, as it is one of the most important elements in the processes of development and development, which participates strongly and effectively in the path of building the country, especially since sport is one of the most important pillars in Qatar National Vision 2030.
For his part, Mr. Jassim Shaheen Al -Sulaiti, Secretary General of the Qatar Federation for Shooting, Arch and Arrow, stressed the great importance of the Sports Day in the State of Qatar for the individual and society.
Al -Sulaiti said in a statement to “Qena”: Qatar is one of the few countries in the world that has allocated a national day for sports, as schools, offices and shops are closed throughout the day to allow everyone to participate in physical activities and follow a healthy lifestyle.
He stressed that sport is one of the main pillars in Qatar’s National Vision 2030 … indicating that hosting major sporting events and providing advanced sporting infrastructure reflects the state’s commitment to achieving sports excellence at the international level.
He believed that the sports day represents an opportunity to remind everyone of the importance of physical activity as an essential part of daily life … considering that sport is not just a means of entertainment or competition, but rather an effective tool for enhancing the physical and psychological health, and improving the quality of life in general.
He added that sport plays a pivotal role in building societies, as it enhances the values of cooperation, discipline and sporting spirit among individuals.
He pointed out that the shooting union is working hard to encourage all age groups to participate in sports activities, including shooting, which is one of the sports that requires high and accurate focus, which contributes to developing mental and physical skills.
Regarding the activities of the Qatar Shooting Federation on the Sports Day, the Secretary General of the Federation explained that the Shooting Union will participate in many events in the oxygen park, and in the activities of the Olympic Committee in Bolivard Lusail, and in the Aspire Park, and will also participate in the activities of the ministries in separate places in the state, and will be held Also, various sports events in the fields of Lusail for the first time, there will be cooperation with the Orphans Welfare Center “Derima”, where the Shooting Federation will organize a special championship for them in bow, arrow, running and cycling competitions.
