The health authorities in Taiz Governorate, southwest of Yemen, announced – today, Wednesday, the death of two children and the injury of hundreds of measles since the beginning of 2025.
According to a statistic issued by the Office of the Ministry of Health in Taiz Governorate, the German News Agency received a copy of it that the most populated governorate recorded 382 cases of measles since the beginning of this year.
The official statistics added that among the injured cases is 83 confirmed laboratory cases, in addition to the deaths of children.
On Sunday evening, the health authorities in the Ma’rib Governorate, eastern Yemen, announced the death of 10 children in Al -Dasba since the beginning of this year, as well as the monitoring of 663 cases suspected of developing the disease.
The health sector in Yemen has suffered a sharp deterioration due to the repercussions of the ongoing war between government forces and the Houthis for nearly 10 years.
This sector also suffers from a severe deficiency in financing that made most of Yemen’s population needs medical aid, according to international reports.
