Reducing service fees and land rents enhances the polarization of investors
His Excellency Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al Thani, Minister of Trade and Industry, affirmed that the ministry is currently focusing on local industries and developing them by building advanced aluminum, plastic, and others. He said: «We seek to transform these industries from being just making initial materials into higher -added products. Which enhances our competitiveness. ”
According to a publication of the National Council for Planning at the “X” platform, His Excellency Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al Thani explained during his participation in the National Development Forum that the ministry is conducting periodic interviews with businessmen, manufacturers and merchants, to develop solutions to some problems, including the problem of the existence of old legislation that affects the ease of doing business. Where a joint ministerial committee is being formed to study more than 26 laws and evaluate its impact on more than 500 activities related to the implementation of decisions.
The Minister of Trade and Industry said that more than 20 thousand transactions were addressed within the one window platform during the past year 2024, noting that about 88 % of the transactions are carried out electronically and 80 % of the transactions are completed in one day.
His Excellency added that the registration services fees in the ministry were reduced by 90 % on some services, and industrial land rents were reduced by more than 50 %.
It is worth noting that the foregoing comes within the framework of the strategy of the Ministry of Trade and Industry aimed at strengthening the investment environment and developing the sectors of trade, industry and business development in Qatar, and implementing the goals of the third national development strategy (2024-2030), aimed at achieving sustainable economic growth and economic diversification, and developing the business environment, in an effort to achieve Qatar National Vision 2030.
The decision to reduce the value of the fees by up to more than 90% for some of the services provided by the ministry in a positive and significant way to the services related to the establishment of companies, the issuance of commercial records and the licensing of commercial stores, as the new commercial registry issuance fees set 500 Qatari riyals only, and fees for issuing commercial licenses 500 Qatari also, which encouraged and supported investors and entrepreneurs to start new projects and businesses in the country.
This decision also strengthened attracting more foreign investments to Qatar and enhancing the role of the private sector in achieving economic diversification and its participation in sustainable economic development, as part of the Ministry continued its efforts to develop its services to provide an ideal and flexible experience for consumers and local and foreign investors, which promotes the status of the State of Qatar as an attractive investment destination.
In a related context, the Ministry of Trade and Industry announced last February, in cooperation with the “areas” company, the reduction of the rental value of industrial, logistical and commercial lands in six logistical areas by up to 50% for a period of five years, which benefits more than 4 thousand investors.
This decision comes within the framework of the ministry and the areas of areas to support the growth of the national economy, enhance the role of the private sector, and stimulate the entrepreneurship and investment in the value -added sectors.
The prices of renting industrial lands reached 5 riyals per square meter annually after they were 10 riyals, and rental prices for logistics land reached 15 riyals per square meter annually after they were 20 riyals, while commercial lands reached the rental prices of 50 riyals per square meter annually after they were 100 riyals.
The Ministry of Trade and Industry has identified these areas in: Logistics, Small and Medium Industries, Logistics, Aba Al -Silil Logistics, Mesaieed Industrial, and Logistics Blessing.
