Important changes were witnessed in the Star League team standings after the fiery fifth round, which was full of excitement and fun. Perhaps the most important of them was the frightening decline of the big boys, namely Al-Sadd, the defending champion, Al-Rayyan, the runner-up, and Al-Arabi, fifth, to the bottom unexpectedly. There were also important changes in the golden square, most notably the rise of Umm Salal for the time. The first to third place, and Al-Gharafa advanced after an absence to fourth.
These changes could not come close to the lead and the summit, as Al-Duhail held on to them with a landslide victory over Al-Sadd 5-1, effectively beginning the march towards regaining the shield.
The conflict began to rage in the square after Al-Ahly tied with Al-Arabi 3-3, and the gap between it and Al-Duhail widened to 4 points after it had been 2 points, and despite Al-Ahly clinging to second place, the danger began to approach it with the victories of Umm Salal, which achieved a difficult 4-2 victory over Al-Shahania, raising its score. To 9 points, they took third place for the first time
Al-Gharafa returned to victories and achieved a major victory over Qatar 3-1, raising its score to 8 points in fourth place. Al-Wakrah also returned to victories and defeated Al-Rayyan 2-0, raising its score to 8 points also in fifth place.

In the struggle at the bottom and in the battle for survival and relegation, and after their losses continued, Al-Khor fell to tenth, followed by Qatar eleventh with 3 points, and Al-Shahaniya remained alone at the bottom and in twelfth and last place with only two points.

Star of the week

Edmilson, the Al Duhail star, continued to shine in the fifth round of the league and performed very well, crowning his effort by scoring two goals against Al-Zaeem to lead his team to the largest victory over its strong competitor, 5-1. Edmilson excelled in an unusual way and was the source of danger to the Al-Sadawi defense in the first half from the left front. He continued his brilliance, excellence and danger after playing on the right front in the second half

Extraordinary brilliance for goalkeepers

Despite the heavy goals scored by the teams in this round, the goalkeepers were the most prominent and superior, and some of them played an important role in his team’s victories, led by Mohammed Al-Bakri, Al-Wakrah’s goalkeeper, who saved his goal from certain Rayyan goals and contributed to his team’s victory. Salah Zakaria, Al-Duhail’s goalkeeper, also appeared well. He was good, and showed great efficiency in some goal kicks that almost changed the course of the match. Al-Arabi’s goalkeeper, Jassim Al-Hail, also appeared well and was one of the reasons for the 3-3 draw with Al-Ahly, as he saved many goals despite his goal being conceded by an unanswered hat-trick.

Ghalti and Almeri are the best

National coach Ali Rahma Al Marri, coach of Al Wakrah, and Frenchman Galtier, coach of Al Duhail, deserve the title of best in the fifth round after they led their teams to victory over Al Sadd and Al Rayyan, champions and runners-up of the last league.
Al Marri took over the task for the first time, succeeding the Spaniard Angel, and he was able to return his team to victories, stop the defeats that followed, and even led the team to regain much of its level.
Ghalteh stressed that his team’s lead and successive victories were not a mere coincidence, but rather the result of great work he did to bring Al Duhail to this level that enabled it to crush its most dangerous competitor, Al Sadd, by five.

Mohamed Omar..a promising star

Mohamed Omar, the rising star of the North, has grabbed the spotlight greatly since the beginning of the season and confirmed that he has good capabilities that made his coach depend on him mainly. Mohamed Omar excelled greatly in the last match against Al-Khor and greatly disturbed the Knights’ defense from the beginning of the match and led his team to the second victory with his goal in the second half, Mohamed Omar. He has good potential and is a bold striker with very good skills that confirm that he will be one of the stars of the future.

Ahmed Alaa’s goal…the most beautiful

The round witnessed a good number of beautiful goals during the six matches, the most beautiful of which was Edmilson’s first goal against Al-Sadd, which came from a powerful shot into the top left corner, and Manasseh’s goal, the Umm Salal player in Al-Shahania, but the second goal by Ahmed Alaa, the star of the Al-Arabi attack, against Al-Ahly, remains one of the most beautiful goals. The league, and not just the round so far, as he received a through pass from Verratti inside the area. He dribbled past the defense in a wonderful way and shot it in a more than wonderful way to the right of the goalkeeper.
