The Local Organizing Committee, in cooperation with the European Football Association (UEFA) and the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL), announced the decision to cancel the Qatar Football Festival 2026. Accordingly, the planned program of events will not take place in Qatar, including the Qatar 2026 Finalissima Cup match between the national teams of Argentina and Spain at the Lusail Stadium, which was previously scheduled to be held in Doha.
With continued airspace disruptions and travel restrictions continuing to impact the ability of many fans, players and officials to move around, it was jointly agreed that moving the match to another location at this time was the most appropriate option. The Local Organizing Committee welcomes the opportunity to host events organized by both UEFA and CONMEBOL in the future.
All fans who purchased Qatar Football Festival tickets will automatically receive a full refund within 30 days via the original payment method. If you do not receive the amount after this period, please contact the email address [email protected].
International fans who purchased travel packages will also be contacted directly by tourism agents regarding refund procedures.
