A Qatar Airways pilot joined a Boeing ecoDemonstrator test flight to demo the latest version of the Jeppesen FliteDeck Pro app. Captain Khalid Issa Al Hammadi, Senior Vice President of Flight Operations at Qatar Airways, climbed into the cockpit in a two-hour flight, becoming the first pilot to participate in the “ecoDemonstrator” test flight on board the program’s 777-200ER (longer range) aircraft.
Captain Al Hammadi observed how the Jeppesen FliteDeck Pro electronic application for the Flight Information Management Center worked, which provides crews with a set of advanced capabilities that contribute to improving operational efficiency.
Commenting on his experience, Captain Khaled Al Hammadi said: “The cooperation between Boeing and Qatar Airways has become stronger today through our participation in the test flight, which went very well. By joining the test flight, we are able to provide opinions and evaluations in an operational environment, which will contribute to improving the product for airlines.”
Boeing is keen to pursue environmental sustainability in its operations under the slogan “Together we make aerospace more sustainable.”
