Al-Markhiya and Lusail open the matches.. The start of the Second Division League on September 19

The Football Association Competitions Committee announced the start date of the Second Division Clubs League for the new sports season 2024-2025, as the competition will open on September 19 with the first week’s matches over the course of Thursday and Friday.
The second division league witnesses matches being held over two days for each round, and they start at the same time in the first and second weeks, which is 7:30 pm, and the third and fourth weeks at 7 pm, while the fifth, sixth and seventh weeks are held at 6 pm.
The four matches of the opening round will be held at the same time at 7:30 pm, as Al Markhiya will meet Lusail at Hamad Bin Khalifa Stadium, Al Kharaitiyat will face Al Sailiya at Al Khor Stadium, Suhaim Bin Hamad Stadium will host the match between Muaither and Al Bidda, while Mesaimeer will face Al Waab at Grand Hamad Stadium.
The first division continues with the matches of the second week, which will be held on October 2-3, 2024, while the third week will be held on the 24th-25th of the same month, the fourth week will start on November 7, the fifth week will be played on the 28th and 29th of the same month, and the sixth will be held on December 5-6.
The matches of the seventh and final week of the first division will be held on December 14-15, 2024, which will bring together Muaither and Al Markhiya at Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium, Al Waab and Al Sailiya at Saud bin Abdul Rahman Stadium, Al Kharaitiyat and Musaimeer at the same stadium, and Lusail and Al Bidda at Al Sailiya Club.
Al Khor team won the Second Division League title for the 2023-2024 football season, topping the general standings with 33 points after deciding the goal difference in direct confrontations with Al Shahaniya, the runner-up, to determine the first-place winner.
Al Khor qualified directly for the Ooredoo Stars League, followed by Al Shahaniya after winning the play-off match against Al Markhiya 3-1. Mesaimeer came third with 24 points, Al Kharaitiyat came fourth with 19 points, Al Sailiya came fifth with 15 points, Al Waab sixth with 13 points, Al Bidda seventh with 10 points, and Lusail last with 7 points.
