A Saudi press report revealed a major surprise when it confirmed that Syrian Omar Al-Somah, the former Al-Ahly Jeddah star and current Al-Arabi player, welcomes a return to the Roshn Professional League.
Okaz newspaper reported yesterday that a number of Saudi clubs expressed their desire to sign Al-Somah during the current summer transfer period, while the Syrian star does not mind returning.
The newspaper did not reveal the identity of the clubs interested in signing Al-Somah, but merely indicated that they are from Al-Qassim, Al-Gharbiya and Al-Sharqiya. Al-Somah is one of the legends of the Saudi Professional League, and the competition’s all-time top scorer with 144 goals, which he scored while playing for Al-Ahli Jeddah.
The 35-year-old Syrian star played for Al-Ahli from 2014 to 2022, before moving to Al-Arabi on loan for a year, then the loan turned into a permanent sale the following season. During his time in the Saudi League, Al-Somah achieved the title of top scorer in the competition 3 consecutive times.
