Portuguese Nuno Almeida, Al Shamal coach, expressed his regret over the loss suffered by Al Shamal against Qatar SC by one goal. Almeida said: We performed very well in the first half by controlling the ball and the course of events, and we wasted one or two chances during this half.
He added: We were on our way to recover the situation in the second half, but we made one mistake and lacked focus, which resulted in us conceding a goal early in the half.
He continued: We tried to fix things, fix what could be fixed, and come back again through the changes we made, but we were faced with missing many opportunities that could have changed the course and result of the match, and therefore it was natural for us to lose after we wasted all these opportunities.
