The administration of outgoing US President Joe Biden said yesterday, Friday, that famous weight-loss drugs such as Ozambik and Wijovi have been added to the list of drugs that will be negotiated directly between the government and drug manufacturing companies.
The next administration of US President-elect Donald Trump will handle the pricing negotiations for the additional 15 selected drugs, and will almost guarantee billions of dollars in savings for taxpayers.
In addition to Ozambik and Wijovi, the list will include some other drugs such as Triligy Ellipta, which treats asthma, Otezla, which is a drug to treat psoriatic arthritis, and many other drugs that treat different types of cancer.
The list is a first step in negotiations, and over time, the final details and prices will be left to the administration of President-elect Donald Trump.
