The Qatar Football Association Referees Committee announced today that Doha will host a number of international arbitration seminars organized by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), by holding a video referees seminar for the continents of Asia, Africa and Oceania during the period from January 18 to 22, with the participation of the international referee. Next March, Doha will host the FIFA Women’s Referees’ Course, in preparation for participating in leading the Women’s World Cup in Brazil 2027.

During the regular meeting attended by Mr. Mansour Al Ansari, Secretary General of the Qatar Football Association, the Referees Committee discussed the reports of the first section of the Arid Stars League, and the referees’ performance in general this season, whether in local tournaments or external participations at the continental and international levels.

The meeting also touched on the courses and camps recently organized by the committee for elite referees and Sunni referees, and the major role played by the referees’ committee and the federation’s arbitration department in preparing new referees, developing the referees and making them reach the required level.

In a related context, the Referees Committee, headed by Mr. Hani Taleb Ballan, congratulated referee Mohamed Al-Sharif on the occasion of obtaining the international badge, and also to lecturer Khamis Al-Kuwari on the occasion of his accreditation as an Asian elite lecturer in physical fitness.

In the same context, the committee praised the brilliance of the Qatari refereeing team in the 26th Gulf Cup tournament in Kuwait, Abdul Rahman Al-Jassem, Saud Ahmed, Talib Salem and Khamis Al-Marri.

The committee praised the performance of the refereeing team for the final of the ASEAN Regional Cup (Mitsubishi Cup 2024), which brought together Vietnam and Thailand on January 2, led by referees Salman Falahi, Zahi Al-Shammari and Khaled Ayed.
