The American artificial intelligence company Anthropic has launched a comprehensive update to the voice conversation mode in its “Claude” assistant, allowing the use of the more advanced “Sonnet” and “Opus” models in addition to the “Haiku” model, allowing for lengthy discussions and solving complex problems while preserving the context of the conversation when switching between writing and voice.
According to the company, the update allows users to benefit from the capabilities of smarter models within voice conversations, after this feature was previously limited to the “Haiku” model designated for quick responses, which expands the use of “Cloud” in tasks such as discussing work challenges, brainstorming, and making decisions.
The company said that the launch of voice mode last year was aimed at providing quick answers with the lowest response time, but users began to rely on it for more complex tasks, which exceeded the capabilities of the “Haiku” model, which was designed primarily for quick conversations.
She added that the update includes a new feature that allows “turning words into actions,” by linking the voice assistant directly to external applications and productivity tools, enabling users to formulate messages, modify appointments, and summarize files using voice commands during the conversation.
