The American company Apple announced the launch of the iOS 27.2 operating system update, which includes a group of new features and improvements, most notably expanding the capabilities of its smart assistant “Siri” and supporting it in five additional languages, in addition to developing a number of applications and enhancing security levels.

The update allows the artificial intelligence-powered Siri assistant to use five additional languages: French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish, as well as improving its ability to remember previous conversations, allowing the user to ask questions related to previous interactions without the need to re-present information.

The assistant is also able to benefit from additional data, including photos, messages, calendar events, and browsing history in the Safari browser, while the company added a new setting that allows the user to specify the applications that the smart assistant can access.

The update included adding smart suggestions to the Messages application, which allows conversations to be transformed into practical actions, such as suggesting adding an appointment to the calendar or helping to track a shipment, in addition to improvements in the photo, music, and video calling applications.

In terms of security, the company announced the fixing of more than 160 security vulnerabilities within the new update, in addition to improvements in the smart home application, including options to automatically close compatible locks and send alerts when doors are left open.

It is worth noting that the new update is the first major update since the launch of iOS 27 last September, and it has become available to all iPhones compatible with the system.
