The two men’s teams in the beach volleyball competitions qualified for the round of 16 in the Asian Beach Games – Sanya 2026, after achieving two new victories yesterday at the conclusion of the second round of the first round competitions.
The first team, consisting of Sherif Younis and Ahmed Tijan, defeated the Uzbekistan team with a score of (2-0), 21-14 and 21-9, while the second team, consisting of Muhammad Ihab and Musa Al-Khair, continued its positive results by beating the Macau team with the same score, 21-10 and 21-5, to confirm the two teams’ readiness to compete in the knockout rounds.

Our national beach handball team strengthened its lead in its group in the Asian Beach Games – Sanya 2026, after achieving a well-deserved victory over its Jordanian counterpart with a score of (2-0), 22-18 18-16, in its fifth match in the first round competitions.
With this victory, the Qatari team raised its score to 10 points from five consecutive victories, in a strong start that reflects the stability of its technical level and its ability to impose its rhythm on all its competitors in the first round.
Salem Al-Dosari, director of the Qatari beach handball team, said that the team is happy with this victory, despite the difficulty of the match against a strong competitor, pointing out that the players’ experience played a decisive role in exploiting opportunities during the last minutes and deciding the match.

The 3×3 basket begins his career in Bahrain
Our national men’s 3×3 basketball team begins its journey against the Bahrain national team, before meeting later in the same day with the Kazakhstan national team, in two matches that represent an early test of the team’s ability to provide a strong start in the tournament.
On the other hand, the women’s team begins its participation with a strong confrontation against the Chinese team, in a difficult match against one of the most prominent candidates in the competitions, before meeting the Kazakhstan team on Monday in its second match in the first round.

A promising Asian experience for Al-Qardagi
Our national jiu-jitsu team player, Ahmed Al-Qardaghi, bid farewell to the Asian Beach Games – Sanya 2026, after losing to Jordanian Aladdin Al-Khuzaie in the round of 16 in the men’s 77-kg competition, in the confrontation that was held yesterday, Friday.
Al-Qurdaghi’s participation came as part of his quest to gain experience and interact with a group of the continent’s most prominent players, as he presented a good level that reflects the development of Qatari jiu-jitsu, benefiting from the previous preparation period, in a step that represents an important milestone in his journey towards achieving better results in future participations.

China tops the rankings
China tops the medal table at the Asian Games, after raising its tally to 7 medals, including 4 gold, 2 silver, and a bronze, confirming its superiority in the competitions so far.
The United Arab Emirates comes in second place with 4 medals (two gold, one silver and one bronze), while the Philippines ranks third with 3 medals (two gold and one bronze), followed by Vietnam in fourth place with two medals (gold and one silver), while the Republic of Korea ranks fifth with two silver medals.
