Australian Christopher Connell qualifies for the final of the Guangzhou China Tennis Championship

Australian Christopher Connell qualified for the final of the Guangzhou Open, China, after defeating Kazakh Mikhail Kukushkin in two sets, 6-4 and 6-2, today in the semi-final match.

Connell will face tomorrow in the final against Japanese player Sho Shimabukuro, who in turn defeated Italian Luca Nardi in two sets without a response, 6-2 and 6-4, today in the other semi-final match.

Connell is seeking to win his fifth title after the 2019 Italian Cordinos, 2019 American Fairfield, 2022 Croatian Split, and 2023 Shanghai, China, while Japanese Sho Shimabukuro is looking to win his third title in his career.

It is noteworthy that the Frenchman Terence Atman won the title of the last edition of the tournament by defeating the Australian Mark Polmans in two sets to one in the final match.
