In an exclusive interview with Al-Arab, Saeed Nour, the coach of the Sunni groups at Al-Sadd Club, spoke about the rising Qatari talent Tamim, who supervised his training for 3 years, including two years in the club’s academy and a year in the Al-Baraem sector, stressing that this period gave him the opportunity to closely follow the player’s development and learn about his artistic and personal potential.
How do you describe Tamim after 3 years of working with him?
Tamim is a very special talent, and what makes him different is that his potential is showing more day after day. It’s not just about what he can do with the ball, his footballing abilities, physical development, personality and attitude are all indicators of a player who has something special inside him.
What caught your attention most about his personality?
One of the qualities that impressed me most about him was his sense of responsibility. When you give him responsibility on the field, he understands it and gives everything he has to implement it. This is a very important quality for a young player, because it means that he not only learns how to play football, but also learns to understand the game and his role within the team.
You have worked with many talents. Where do you place Tamim among them?
During my coaching career, I worked with young players between the ages of 7 and 15, and I saw a lot of talent, but every coach wishes to work with a player who combines talent, personality, responsibility, discipline, and the desire to develop. Tamim is one of these players.
What does Tamim’s ambition to represent Qatar mean to you?
This makes me very proud. Tamim wants to make Qatar proud, and I can see these ambitions within him for real. I spoke with his father several times, and I think representing Qatar and achieving something for his country is very important to him.
How do you see his move to the Barcelona Academy?
It’s a great opportunity for him. It’s not just about Barcelona’s name, it’s about giving him the opportunity to experience a new football environment, learn from different coaches and players, challenge himself and continue to develop at the highest level.
What is your message to him in the next stage?
Being selected from a great academy is not the end of the road, but rather the beginning of a new journey. He has to keep learning, stay humble, work hard, and stick to the same passion and love for football. Talent may open the door, but character, discipline, responsibility and hard work are what allow a player to continue on the path.
What is your dream for Tamim?
I hope to see him one day wearing the Qatari national team jersey, standing on football’s biggest stages, and making his family, coaches, Al Sadd Club, and most importantly Qatar, proud of him. It will be an extraordinary moment for everyone who believed in him from the beginning.
