The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology organized, through a laboratory for innovation, the event of “project display” to review four experimental models that were developed during the first phase of the experimental environment initiative for artificial intelligence and the extensive reality, in the presence of His Excellency Mr. Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, Minister of Communications and Information Technology.
The event witnessed the participation of government agencies, emerging companies and partners in the telecommunications and information technology sector, where the results of the digital innovations that were developed to address real challenges in the fields of health care, compliance, purchases, and movement of smart cities were presented.
The experimental environment initiative aims to provide a safe and isolated space to test and develop emerging technologies and verify their effectiveness without affecting the existing services, and it was designed to accelerate the pace of digital innovation while preserving the highest safety and security standards, in line with the Ministry’s vision in enabling a flexible and effective digital transformation, and contributes directly to achieving the goals of the digital agenda 2030 and the vision of Qatar National 2030.
The experimental environment of artificial intelligence has allowed participants from several governmental institutions and emerging companies to reach the “Ferks” platform for artificial intelligence from Google Cloud, as well as guidance and support provided by experts of the Deloitte Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Google. On the other hand, the experimental environment of the extended reality of the participants provided advanced tools in augmented and virtual reality, and a unified development portal, in addition to intense practical training from Deloit Digital experts. This theoretical and practical training helped to convert their innovative ideas into preliminary 3D models.
The event witnessed the presentation of four advanced experimental models, which included three solutions based on artificial intelligence, and one solution to the extended reality; Where the first solution is in a safe tool for sharing X -ray images that depend on artificial intelligence techniques to hide the patient’s identification data from medical images, allowing safe participation of data between the authorities authorized while preserving privacy, and developed by a team from the Ministry of Public Health, Hamad Medical Corporation, and the Senhols Company.
