The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has concluded its participation in the web summit Qatar 2025 – which brought together a group of technology, innovation and decision -makers from all over the world – and during the summit, the Ministry showed its commitment to enhancing international partnerships and supporting digital transformation in the region by signing a set of strategic agreements aimed at enhancing digital cooperation.
The Ministry also shed light on its efforts to enable startups, as it had the opportunity to interact with international experiences and meet international investors, which contributes to advancing economic growth and enhancing innovation. These initiatives are in line with the goals of the digital agenda and the Qatar National Vision 2030, which seeks to achieve a comprehensive digital transformation that enhances Qatar’s position as a major supporter of innovation and technological growth worldwide.
The summit witnessed the signing of a number of strategic agreements, as the ministry concluded a set of agreements that included a cooperation initiative with Microsoft to launch the Azure Openai service in the State of Qatar, allowing institutions in the country to benefit from it to improve operational efficiency. A cooperation initiative was also signed with Huawei to support the development of national competencies skills in the fields of technology and the development of digital capabilities, in addition to a long -term partnership agreement with Scale AI to develop innovative artificial intelligence solutions that contribute to improving government services and contributes to enhancing the capabilities of national and workforce in the field of artificial intelligence. The Ministry also signed a cooperation initiative with Microsoft, aimed at supporting digital innovation and startups and empowering entrepreneurs in the telecommunications and information technology sector.
The Ministry organized specialized courses, which included multiple topics related to artificial intelligence, smart cities and digital entrepreneurship. The workshops dealt with mechanisms to unify digital skills standards in the State of Qatar, the impact of artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things on the development of smart cities and health care, as well as discussing the balance between the opportunities of artificial intelligence and its risks, as well as reviewing the best global practices in financing startups and expanding their business locally and internationally.
On this occasion, His Excellency Mrs. Reem Al -Mansoori, Assistant Undersecretary for Digital Industry Affairs, said, “Our participation in the web summit Qatar 2025 reflects our continuous commitment to supporting the system of startups and promoting digital innovation in the country. The summit has witnessed the signing of strategic partnerships with major international companies, such as Microsoft, Huawei and Scale AI, which contributes to enabling digital entrepreneurs to reach the latest technologies and benefit from global experiences to develop innovative solutions that meet the needs of the local and global market. We will continue to work on building specific partnerships, and implementing innovative initiatives that contribute to establishing Qatar’s position as a regional center for digital innovation and entrepreneurship, in line with the goals of the digital agenda and Qatar National Vision 2030 ».
The Ministry also announced the launch of two experimental initiatives for “AI Sandbox” and the “XR Sandbox” reality within the Tasima Innovation Laboratory. These initiatives aim to enhance technological progress and innovation in the digital entrepreneurial environment in the State of Qatar, and to enable startups, researchers and developers to explore experimental solutions in the areas of artificial intelligence and extended reality, and work to expand their applications to advance economic growth.
