The Asian Football Confederation organized a course for goalkeeper coaches, which lasted for 4 days in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur.

The course witnessed the participation of goalkeeper lecturers and coaches from member associations of the Asian Football Confederation, to exchange ideas on methodologies for training goalkeeper coaches.

The course was supervised by the famous goalkeeper coach lecturer Frans Hoek from the Netherlands, who previously worked with Manchester United, Barcelona, ​​Bayern Munich, and the Dutch, Polish and Saudi national teams.

On the opening day, which combined theoretical and practical sessions aimed at raising the standards of goalkeeper training, participants received a glimpse into a range of concepts such as reality-based learning and the evolving role of goalkeepers so that their role is not only limited to protecting the goal, but also includes actively contributing to Building team play.

Participants also received expert advice on topics such as the playing system and style of play, player positioning and movement, which in turn enabled them to analyze game scenarios more accurately.

Other main topics of the theoretical lectures include cooperation with the technical director and his staff, the increasing importance of lecturers, and the evolution of training methods.
