Cooperation between “Research and Development” and “Qatari” for innovation in aviation

The Qatar Council for Research, Development, Innovation and Airlines signed a strategic memorandum of understanding, with the aim of accelerating the pace of innovation in the aviation, transportation, and logistical services, and the promotion of the global competitiveness of the State of Qatar in these vital sectors, on the sidelines of the Qatar Economic Forum 2025.
The agreement was signed by Eng. Omar Al -Ansari, Secretary -General of the Qatar Council for Research, Development and Innovation, and Engineer Badr Mohamed Al -Meir, CEO of the Qatar Airways Group, in an important step towards enhancing effective cooperation between two of the most prominent national authorities in the State of Qatar.
On this occasion, Al -Ansari said: “The partnership reflects the council’s commitment to consolidate Qatar’s position as a global center for innovation, and through cooperation with Qatar Airways, which is one of the world leading companies in the aviation sector, we establish a strong base for strategic innovation, stimulate the local system, and active contribution to achieving the goals of the third national development strategy.”
For his part, the CEO of the Qatar Airways Group said: “The Qatar Airways Group has always gained a global appreciation as a leading destination in the field of innovation, thanks to its firm commitment to reformulate the standards of excellence in the aviation industry. This partnership represents a strategic pillar in the system of our various and vital partners in the field of innovation and will contribute directly to accelerating our digital transformation, which enhances our progress in competition, and deepens our commitment to making innovation a substance for everything we do in Qatar Airways, and added: “This memorandum of understanding is a strategic opportunity for the effective contribution to strengthening the state’s center on the global innovation index, and consolidating the position of the State of Qatar As a pioneering global center in aviation technologies, by providing a stimulating environment to develop, test and expand the beginning of the innovative generation solutions.
It is noteworthy that this memorandum determines an organized and gradual approach to cooperation, which will focus on developing a group of innovation that includes the aviation, transport and logistical services sectors, and the strategic framework includes transformational innovation, challenge -based initiatives, integration of artificial intelligence and digital innovation as main empowerment factors for future projects.
The partnership also aims to ensure strategic compatibility with the goals of the third national development strategy, with a focus on promoting priority industries, supporting local innovation, contributing to sustainable economic growth through targeted investments, allocated financing, and policies supporting innovation.
The agreement reflects the commitment of the two institutions to put innovation at the core of national development and enhance Qatar’s global position.
