Chelsea beat West Ham United 3-0 in the match that brought them together today, at the opening of the fifth round of the English Premier League.
Chelsea’s goals were scored by Nicolas Jackson (two goals) in the 4th and 18th minutes, and Cole Palmer in the 47th minute.
After this victory, Chelsea raised its score to 10 points, advancing to second place temporarily, pending the completion of the rest of the round’s matches. In contrast, West Ham remained at 4 points in fourteenth place in the tournament’s standings.
Chelsea are scheduled to meet Brighton, and West Ham will meet Brentford, on Saturday, September 28, in the sixth round of the tournament.
Manchester City, the title holder, leads the English Premier League standings with 12 points, and will meet Arsenal, the third-place team with 10 points, tomorrow in the fifth round summit.
