The Ministry of Trade and Industry and the General Customs Authority announced the facilitation of import procedures without adhering to the commercial activity included in the commercial registry with the continuation of the Ministry’s supervisory role to ensure commitment to legislation and protect the local market. The ministry said on its official account on the X platform that this decision comes within the framework of joint efforts to facilitate procedures for companies, to enhance the business environment and make them more flexible and efficient. On the other hand, the Ministry of Trade and Industry decided to adopt new models for records and commercial licenses, in the context of its continuous efforts to develop the business environment and simplify procedures in a way that contributes to enhancing the services provided to investors and companies owners.

The new update includes the addition of “Anmani Panel”, which allows the display of the national address of the facility to the commercial license, with the aim of enhancing transparency and facilitating access to commercial establishments data. The update also includes the inclusion of “the establishment classification” in the commercial registry extract, which contributes to improving the accuracy of data and facilitating transactions. The updated models will be released automatically when any transaction related to records or commercial licenses.

High commercial records
The number of new commercial records witnessed a rise of 32 percent during the first quarter of this year compared to the first quarter of 2024, while the impact of the ministerial decision continued to reduce services fees and the service of establishing companies from outside Qatar using the passport, which contributed to increasing the number of new commercial licenses by 87 percent compared to the same period last year, and the ministry recorded a decrease in the average period of issuance of commercial records compared to the same period last year, with the continued impact of the declaration of the permitted activities continued It has home projects, which contributed to the increase in the number of home licenses by 54 percent after increasing the permitted activities from 10 to 63 activities.

The number of local patent applications, the number of trademark registration requests, and the number of local author rights, increased by more than 18 percent compared to the first quarter of 2024.
The “Business Map” portal is a broad database that includes the investment features of various regions of the country and allows its users to view the private and basic data of economic facilities in the State of Qatar.
The portal provides a service to search for commercial facilities located in a specific area, and it also includes statistics on the available commercial activities and the most used commercial activities, and statistical data on the number of commercial licenses registered in each municipality, and the latest commercial facilities registered in the country.
The portal of business map also provides the service checking service and commercial licenses for the concerned authorities, where the QR Code is included on the extracts issued by the one window at the Ministry of Trade and Industry, in order to facilitate access to records of records and commercial licenses and verify their health and suitability.
