The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) revealed that the international transfer market recorded new record levels during the period from June 1 to September 2, 2026, after the total spending on men’s football transfer fees exceeded $9.89 billion, coinciding with the recording of more than 12,500 international transfers.
On Thursday, FIFA issued its summary report on international transfers for the mid-2026 period, including an analysis of the movement of transfers of male and female players, and the impact that the 2026 World Cup had on the men’s market, in addition to setting new records in women’s football.
The report’s data showed that 267 players from 47 nationalities, who participated in the 2026 World Cup, moved to new clubs during the mid-year transfer period, with a total fee exceeding $3.3 billion.
