Hani Ballan participates in supervising the FIFA World Cup 2026 referee course

Mr. Hani Taleb Ballan, Chairman of the Referees Committee of the Qatar Football Association and Vice-Chairman of the Referees Committee of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), is participating in supervising the preparatory course organized by FIFA for the referees selected to officiate the 2026 World Cup matches.
The tournament will be held in the American city of Miami for ten days, as part of the final preparations for the launch of the upcoming global football event, with the participation of all the referees who were chosen to manage the tournament matches.
This course comes within the FIFA program to qualify referees and raise their technical and physical readiness, through a series of theoretical lectures, practical exercises and specialized workshops, ensuring the highest levels of refereeing performance during the 2026 World Cup competitions.
The tournament will witness the participation of a group of international referees from various continental federations who have been chosen to officiate the World Cup matches, as it represents an essential step in the final preparation program before the start of the 2026 World Cup.
The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) had selected 170 referees to manage the World Cup matches, with the list including 52 referees, 88 assistant referees, in addition to 30 video assistant referees (VAR).
