The Al-Arabi Club team was crowned champion of the Men’s Table Tennis League Championship for the 2024-2025 sports season, after an absence of more than 14 full years since winning the title in 2011-2012. Al-Ahlam, led by its stars, Rawad Al-Nasser and German Schmidt, and the Croatian professional Tomislav Bukar, succeeded in winning the title that was absent from its coffers after topping the league table with 16 points, achieving the full mark, after defeating the Qatar Club team with a score of (3-2) in the marathon match that brought them together yesterday.
By the end of the last round’s competitions, the champion Al Arabi strengthened its position in the lead with 16 points, Qatar Club came in second place with 15 points, Al Sadd was in third place with 14 points, Al Khor was in fourth place with 13 points, Al Rayyan was in fifth place with 12 points, and Al Shamal In sixth place with 11 points, Al-Gharafa in seventh place with 10 points, Al-Wakrah in eighth place with 9 points, then Al-Ahly in ninth and final place. With 8 points.
After the end of the competitions, Khalil bin Ahmed Al-Muhannadi, President of the Qatar Table Tennis Federation, President of the Arab and Asian Federations, and First Vice-President of the International Federation, crowned the Al-Arabi players with the league shield, Qatar Club also won second place and silver medals, and Al-Sadd won third place and bronze medals.
Khalil Al-Muhannadi praised the distinguished levels presented by Al-Arabi in the league this season and its victory in the title after a long absence.
Al-Mohannadi said that Al-Arabi presented an exceptional level, did not suffer any losses in the tournament, and proved its worth in returning to the podium again. Qatar and Al-Sadd also deserve praise for the strong performance they provided throughout the tournament, stressing that the diversity of champions annually is a good phenomenon that deserves praise.
In turn, Mohammed Abdullah Saleh, Secretary-General of the Backgammon Federation, confirmed that Al-Arabi deserved to win the title thanks to the outstanding levels it presented throughout the tournament, noting that the league competitions were strong this season with many clubs seeking to win the title.
