Hungary’s Anna Bondar exits Thailand Open in first round

Hungarian Anna Bondar bid farewell to the Thailand Open Women’s Tennis Championship in the first round, after losing today to Spanish Rebecca Masarova in two sets to one (6-3, 6-7, 5-7), thus ensuring Masarova’s advancement to the second round.
Chinese player Chenyu Wang also qualified for the second round of the tournament after defeating Egyptian player Mayar Sherif in two sets to none (6-2, 6-4), and Argentine player Nadia Podoroska after defeating Russian player Ksenia Laskotova in two sets to none (6-1, 6-0).
Japanese Mai Hontama also secured her qualification by overcoming Ukrainian Diana Yastremska in two sets to none (7-6, 7-5), and Chinese Xinyu Gao by defeating her compatriot Sijia Wei in two sets to none (6-3, 6-2).
In turn, Dutchwoman Ariane Hartono advanced to the next round after defeating Japanese Moeka Ushijima in two sets to none (6-1, 6-1), Croatian Jana Fett defeated Chinese Sisai Zheng in two sets to one (2-6, 6-3, 6-3), and Polish Maeda Linette defeated Ukrainian Lesia Tshirenko in two sets to none (6-2, 7-5).
It is noteworthy that the Chinese Lin Zhu won the title of the last edition of the tournament, after defeating the Ukrainian Lesia Tcherenko in two sets to none in the final match.
