In celebration of the anniversary of the 2022 World Cup final… Aspire hosts the FIFA The Best Awards ceremony

Tonight, on the eve of the celebration of the National Day of the State of Qatar, and hours before the start of the final match of the FIFA Confederations Cup 2024 between the Spanish club Real Madrid and Pachuca of Mexico, and with the celebrations of the second anniversary of the holding of the Qatar World Cup 2022 final, Aspire Academy will host The Best FIFA Awards Ceremony. During which the identities of the best male and female players and the brightest coaches, male and female, will be revealed
During the ceremony hosted by the Aspire Sports Excellence Academy, the identities of the most distinguished male and female players, male and female coaches during the current year will be revealed, in addition to the most beautiful goals.
The ceremony, which is held in conjunction with the twentieth anniversary of the opening of the Aspire Academy, will witness the presence of a group of personalities, which will be presented by the President of FIFA, members of the Federation Council, FIFA legends, local and regional ambassadors, and illustrious names from the world of football.
Competing for the Player of the Year award, for which 11 players are nominated, are: Brazilian Vinicius Junior, who won the Spanish league and Champions League double with Real Madrid, and Spaniard Rodri, who led English Manchester City to the domestic league title for the fourth consecutive season and contributed to Spain winning the European Cup. The door opened for him to win the Ballon d’Or, and French star Kylian Mbappé, Real Madrid’s player, is also competing for the award.
Argentine Lionel Messi won the award last year for the third time in a record achievement.
Annabi star Akram Afif is also competing on the list of candidates for the FIFA squad for the best 11 players in the world for the year 2024.
The list in which Afif is present includes 22 players, most notably the Argentine Lionel Messi, the American player for Inter Miami, the Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo, the Saudi Al-Nasr player, the Brazilian Vinicius Junior, the Spanish Real Madrid player, the English Harry Kane, the German Bayern Munich player, the Norwegian Erling Haaland, the English Manchester City player, and the Spanish Lamine. The FIFA Puskas Award was redefined to honor the best goal scorer in men’s football, regardless of his nationality or the tournament in which he scored.
Competing for the best coach award are Italian Carlo Ancelotti, coach of Real Madrid, Lionel Scaloni, coach of the Argentine national team, Luis de la Fuente, winner of the European Nations Cup 2024 with the Spanish national team, Pep Guardiola, coach of Manchester City, and Xabi Alonso, coach of Bayer Leverkusen.
The voting process for this year’s awards witnessed a major change, which involved the participation of the public in choosing the FIFA squad of the 11 best players in the world and the FIFA squad of the 11 best women players in the world from a list of 77 male and female candidates – 22 from defense, 22 from midfield, 22 from attack, compared to 11 from goalkeeping. Note that the votes will be distributed equally between the public and a committee composed of experts.
