The Ministry of Communications organized an inspection campaign on limousine cars that practice passenger transport activity through electronic applications, during the blessed Eid Al -Adha period. The Ministry implemented the campaign in coordination with the relevant departments of the Ministry of Interior, and included a number of areas that witness a large arrival of citizens, residents and tourists. This campaign comes with the aim of ensuring that companies adhere to the conditions approved by the ministry, whether for limousine cars or their drivers, in order to ensure the achievement of the required quality and maintain the level of service.
The Ministry of Communications stresses that it will implement the laws and legislations issued to the violating companies, which is soaked in the necessity of adhering to passenger transport companies using electronic applications to the provisions of the laws in force, and obtaining a prior license from the ministry to engage in their activities in the country, to avoid the violations stipulated by Law No. (8) of 2019 to regulate land transport and its executive regulations.
The Ministry affirmed its keenness to ensure the commitment of companies that exercise passenger transport activity through electronic applications to safety standards, as well as the requirements specified by Law No. (8) of 2019 to regulate land transport, and its executive regulations issued by the Minister of Transportation Resolution (13) of 2024, and to achieve the highest levels of service provided by the companies licensed in fundaies in a fair competitive environment, and pursuing unlicensed companies and violating them The maximum penalties stipulated in the aforementioned law.
The Ministry of Communications has identified only 7 companies authorized and allowed to practice passenger transport activity in the country through electronic applications: Uber, Karawah Technology, Q Drive, Badr Technology, Transient, Zoom, and Cap Raid, stressing that all legal measures are taken against the violating companies.
