The Qatar Olympic Committee announced the calendar of tournaments (international, continental and local) that the country will host during the new year 2025, which includes 84 events, including 15 world championships, perhaps the most prominent of which is the World Table Tennis Championship organized by the Qatar Table Tennis Federation during the period from May 17 to 27, 2025 in Lusail Hall. And the gym at Qatar University, the women’s gym, and the FIFA Junior World Cup, which will be held from 5 to 27 November 2025 at the 2022 World Cup stadiums.
The Qatar Volleyball Association will organize the finals of the King of the Field Beach Volleyball Championship in early January and the World Elite Beach Volleyball Championship in February. The series of international tournaments continues during the month of February, as the Qatar Golf Federation organizes the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters Golf Championship, and the Qatar Tennis, Squash, Padel and Badminton Federation organizes the Qatar ExxonMobil Open Tennis Championship for men and the Qatar Total Energies Open Tennis Championship for women. The Qatar Shooting Federation also hosts the Qatar Shooting Championship competitions. His Highness the Prince for Shooting and the Lusail Shotgun Championship.
The month of April witnesses more international championships, as the Qatar Gymnastics Federation organizes the World Cup for artistic gymnastics (men – women), while the Qatar Basketball Association hosts the 3×3 World Basketball League competitions for youth under 23 in June, and the Qatar Federation hosts tennis, squash, padel and badminton. At the Asian level, the calendar includes 14 tournaments, including the Asian Beach Volleyball Championship, the third window of the 2025 Asian Cup of Basketball, the West Asian One-Day Athletics Championship, the 2025 West Asian Badminton Championship, and the Asian Padel Championship.
On the Arab level, the Qatar Football Association will host the Arab Cup football competitions during the period from December 1 to 18 at the 2022 World Cup stadiums.
At the Gulf level, Doha will host six tournaments in the new year, including the Gulf Men’s Tennis Championship (singles and doubles), the Gulf Padel Championship for teams under 14 and 18, for men and women, and the Gulf Cooperation Council Athletics Championship for young men and women.
As for the most important local events included in the calendar of sports tournaments for the year 2025, they are the National Sports Day, the Qatar Olympic Committee Half Marathon 2025, the Qatar Volleyball Cup final, the final of His Highness the Emir’s Basketball Cup, the final of the Qatar Football Cup, the final of the Qatar Handball Cup, the final of His Highness the Emir’s Volleyball Cup, and the conclusion of the tournament.
