The Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation “Kahramaa” won the Excellence Award in the Application of Facilities Management in Mega Projects within the MEFMA Excellence Awards, which are organized by the Middle East Facilities Management Association (MEFMA). “Kahramaa” received the award during the ceremony held in the Emirate of Dubai, for the participation of the Public Services Department representing the corporation.
This win embodies the leadership position that KAHRAMAA enjoys in adopting the best international practices in facilities and asset management. It also reflects the organization’s success in employing digital transformation and institutional innovation to raise performance efficiency and achieve operational sustainability, thus enhancing KAHRAMAA’s reputation and position at the regional and international levels.
This win came from the asset tracking system project using coding technology, which is integrated with the maintenance management system within the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system across the organization’s facilities. The project covers broad operational facilities that include more than 600 sites, including administrative buildings, electricity stations, water stations, customer service centers, data centers, and other vital facilities. It includes a documented database of more than 77,000 assets, which contributes to raising the efficiency of operational asset management, enhancing the speed of response and maintenance work at the level of Kahramaa facilities, and supports the organization’s efforts. The importance of this achievement comes from its connection to the facilities management sector, which is one of the basic pillars of the sustainability of assets and infrastructure and ensuring the efficiency of operational services in major institutions, especially in vital sectors that require high levels of reliability, readiness and business continuity.
