Katara International Amber Exhibition kicks off today

The activities of the fifth edition of the Katara International Amber Exhibition will begin today, Tuesday, in Katara Hall – Building 12, and will continue until January 10, with the participation of 14 countries offering a wide variety of unique and rare amber exhibits.
The festival is the largest of its kind in the Middle East and the second largest in the world after the International Exhibition in Poland.
The exhibition highlights the importance of amber as part of cultural and industrial heritage, and includes the organization of workshops and educational activities to familiarize the public with the history and benefits of this precious stone. It is also considered the ideal platform for exchanging experiences between participants and enhancing cooperation to develop the amber industry locally and globally.
This event confirms Katara’s position as a global cultural center that combines heritage and modernity, and attracts amber enthusiasts and specialists from all over the world.
The exhibition, in its fifth edition, also provides a valuable opportunity to view the latest exhibits, products and technologies used in amber and learn about the latest designs and the finest various innovations in its industry and artifacts that combine heritage, originality, modernity and creativity, as the participating pavilions include extremely beautiful, high-quality and mastery products that highlight the experiences and creativity of leading designers. In the world of amber, the fifth edition is expected to witness strong competition between the participating pavilions of many of the leading countries in the amber industry, as it includes under its umbrella dozens of companies. And international brands in this sector.
It is noteworthy that Katara opened the Katara Amber Center in Building 15, which is considered one of the prominent landmarks in the Katara Cultural Village. The center displays different types of rosaries from various sources, along with artistic masterpieces of different sizes and shapes. The exhibition also includes artistic paintings in amber, in addition to the raw amber stone that can be shaped.
The exhibition continues to receive visitors during Wednesdays and Thursdays from twelve noon to ten p.m., while on Friday it opens its doors to visitors between two p.m. and eleven p.m.
